Warts and all

If you've been keeping up with the iPad-launch hype but you'd like some ammunition to fire back with, Ars Technica have a veerrry detailed review that points out heaps of drawbacks and caveats. You could just learn about the problems using the device to read books if you wanted. Or go on a negative spree and read the lot.
Not that any of that puts me off. I'll still get one. Even seeing the iPad referred to as a £400 Etch-A-Sketch only serves to amuse (but not dissuade) me. We don't mind the nasty words, do we Prrrrecious.

This penny-pinching copy-editor will save his money for actual books...

Nice link...will read full article before I head to one of those tech networking things where it is full of mega Mac fanboys, just to see if they can handle the truth.
May also take along an etch-a-sketch and have a 'which is the most fun?' competition.
Saying all that...looking forward to trying one out. Damn Apple and their excellent products.

I too am ignoring all the detractors and looking forward to queuing with the rest of the faithful to get one.
I didn't think I was going to but I've seen a couple of uses for the device that make it a worthwhile purchase, issues aside.
Just wish they'd hurry up and make the announcement.

Actually, I was always very fond of the etch-a-sketch - and still doodle on one when I get the opportunity! Savings my pennies ...
