I liked this bit in the paper. If it's not actually wise then it's certainly funny. And very nicely written.

I don't know whether to be worried or pleased that I'm already doing most of the things on that list.

Not the cat, though. Or carrying an umbrella at all times; getting wet is an acceptable alternative, I find.


I don't have a cat, but do have a rabbit - will that do? It even sits on my lap - tries to dig through it, but for a nanosecond it will sit.

I don't have to look for the dressing gown cord, because I know for certain it is still with te dressing gown. I just don't know where the dressing gown is at the mo. I last saw it 10yrs ago hanging off the back of the door of a B&B on the Isle of Wight. On second thoughts it's possible the cord has since become detatched from the dressing gown, but whoever's got it can keep it.
