Returns

Not ours for once, though. I'm guessing that in January and February 2009, returns are going to be at a record high in the larger publishing houses. I wonder if this will be the catalyst for doing something about them once and for all?

Thank you for that cheery post!

Aye, what's left of the publishing industry may finally decide that sale-or-return on everything isn't wise. I'm still not sure if all items should be firm sale, but I agree that it's time to stop the absurdities of over-ordering titles for display purposes, and returning stock only to order it again in a few weeks.

Heh, sorry, George! I'm sure you'll struggle through, though!

Just found an interesting article on returns. HarperStudio have made a deal with Borders in the US to sell books on a non-returnable basis (with a higher discount).
