I've only just realised this, but Indesign CS3 doesn't support cross references. Astonishing. I bet, actually, that Adobe fixed this in 1999 but is eeking out functionality like this across twenty years of releases so we keep paying a grand every 18 months for each new release. Bah.

its on the Adobe knowledge base. If all you're trying to do is add a "See also" kind of line with a subject.

let me know if link doesn't work and I'll copy the howto for you.


Yeah, sadly that's just in an index. I'm looking for functionality that automates 'see page xx' within the text, so the page ref stays the same regardless of reflows...


Yes, that would be useful. If I come across how to do that I'll comment again.
