Broken?

Just want to check whether the comments system of the SnowBlog is broken. Occasionally people mention difficulty in submitting comments. Sometimes they get a message that starts: "In an effort to curb malicious comment posting by abusive users, I've enabled a feature that requires a weblog commenter to wait a short amount of time before being able to post again..." I'm going to track that message down and change it because it's not really telling the truth. Really it means you slipped up filling in your details and answering the super-secret anti-spam question. If you double-check that you've filled in all the things you're supposed to and still can't post a comment, could you let me know?

update: Well, thanks to everyone for all the detective work. It sounds like typing in the super-secret anti-spam word with a leading capital causes problems. I've changed the comments form to make it clear that capitals are bad. Sorry to anyone who'd tried to post their thoughts here and been unsuccessful. With any luck it will be a little easier now.

I had that message a few times, Rob. Then I realised I was entering the word 'snow' into the Answer box... Doh.

I've had that a few times - usually when I'm posting late at night.
Also I've found the 'Remember personal info?' doesn't work so I keep having to enter my details everytime.

I have never yet been able to post a comment on the Snowblog. Tried loads of times. Here's another attempt. Oh! It worked!

I repeatedly get this issue. Am I deluded? Is snow not white?

Woo hoo! I got through! Guess it pays to pay attention to capitalisation, too ;)

I've also had that message twice, so gave up posting. And like Fiona, it never remembers personal info.

If you preview before posting, you have to enter that cunning security question again - could that be a contrubutory factor? Page back from the error message and you can double check and try again. Anyway, now I have been successful, I will start posting again ... well, after the Christams chaos has calmed down.

Seeing as we are in problem-solving mode, does anybody else have problems with a dyslexic keyboard?!

I don't recall having trouble, but here's a test for you.

Tentative test...

There were two identical failed attempts before that though...

I've found that the "secret answer" is case sensitive. All LOWER case.
