A blog post* by Matt Taibbi, who writes for Rolling Stone magazine suggests that many voters don't even review political candidates as though they're choosing their leaders any more, but instead treat them purely as entertainment, voting for them the way they would participants in a reality TV show. That has to be nonsense, but it's disturbing how much sense it almost makes.

*Contains sleazy language as well as scary notions.
