Bibliographic data management: how hard can it be?

Ah, bibliographic data. Always good to see when it works. I am, of course, being sarcastic.

Our latest Bike book, Bicycle Design by Mike Burrows, is at #38 in the Amazon charts in:
Books > Reference > Transport > Automotive > Trucks, Lorries & Vans

Trucks, Lorries and Vans, eh? I sure as hell didn't put it in that category. I wonder who did?

Still, I'm very pleased with the end result. That book nearly killed me, so it's good to see it looks rather fine. Smells nice, too.

I followed the link to Amazon and then went up one level. I guess they went down the list of categories in automotive, didn't find any good matches, so settled for the last entry. I never use these categories in any case.
Back to the book - my copy last week. What a great job Messrs Haynes did with the printing, as well as whoever designed and produced the book. In this case, I am not sure whether that's cyclebooks or snowbooks (I shall read the archives and find out, no doubt). I am sure I shall be ordering the other books in the series (even though I don't actually cycle).
Well done, and I hope you sell lots of copies.

Aw, thanks PL! Haynes are marvellous, aren't they, and so great to work with. And they're not *that* much more expensive than sending overseas, and so much more responsive, friendly and of course just down the road if I want to pop in (well, Somerset, but not India!) I did all the design, typesetting, layout and images [curtsey].

Cyclebooks is the imprint (our first!) whose guest editor is Richard Ballantine, cycling supremo.

It's made my day to hear you like it - thanks so much!

Well, you did an excellent job, Em. I am sure I will leave comments again, but good luck with the forthcoming birth.
I would like to praise you excellent on-line ordering system and efficient delivery service.
