Introducing Barnes Jnr

Needn't have worried - this one will be a black belt by 15. S/he was punching and kicking like a pro, with a strong heartbeat (like I know what I'm talking about - it was beating, put it that way) and 10 fingers and toes (you could see them!) 5 cm and due 2nd October - the day before my birthday. And personally, I think that's one pretty baby (no bias there!)

Phew, glad that was all positive! !

Congratulations, Emma! So pleased for you. Baby looks very pretty, as well. You must be over the moon. Seeing your first baby for the first time - one of the best things life has to offer.

Congratulations on passing the first trimester. For my first child, we were referred for a 3-d scan at Ormond Street that was experimental for the time - 2002 - it was fine, and the child appeared all golden and glowing in there, like at the end of 2001: A Space Odyssey.

Oh s/he looks lovely. Now you can start to enjoy it - the one time in a woman's life when no-one defines her by her dress size.

Unless you're Halle Berry: the Mail on Sunday yesterday more or less referred to as fat despite being heavily pregnant... well, that's the Mail for you!

Congratulations!

This is actually the first time I've seen an ultrasound look like anything. Last year 3 of my co-workers were pregnant at the same time, and they were oohing and aahing over their ultrasounds. I oohed obediently, but all I saw was static and maybe a fish-type-thing? This one has an actual face and body shape! Ooh! Aah!

Blimey! The quality of the scan makes me feel like the granny that I am! The last time I saw a scan it looked like a black and white TV (remember those, you young whippersnappers?)with the horizntal hold completely shot.

Looks suspiciously like Christopher Robin, complete with full head of hair.
