Introducing George Mann's The Affinity Bridge
posted by Emma on 25 Feb 2008
Hot off the press, a fabulous Steampunk tale and our big title of Christmas 2008, featuring Crown investigator Sir Newbury and his astonishingly proficient assistant Miss Hobbes, signed up last week, out October of this year, cover done in one mammoth sitting on Saturday. What do you think? Hint: isn't it just about the most gorgeous thing you've ever seen?

That is just about the most gorgeous thing I've ever seen. I am both impressed and jealous.

Truly love the design but what does Steampunk mean?!

Steampunk is an off-shoot of science fiction where essentially technology is driven by Victoriana, i.e. steam and coal, and where Britain is still a superpower.

You'll love it, mum! x

It's a great cover - i like things with a lot of panels and consoles and stuff - detailed but contained. And the Moorcock airship compulsory to all steampunk. Good stuff.

This is just gorgeous, and perfectly timed to take advantage of the building, uh, steam for steampunk. (Don't hit me!)

"essentially technology is driven by Victoriana, i.e. steam and coal."
