My PR company is better than your PR company

Oooooh...fantastic! Maybe I should have gone for your PR company instead of my literary agent, Donna Pickett.


I was curious to try out Cerub after your recommendation. We've been using them for three months, however during that time we've had very little success. Two campaigns - one with absolutely zero coverage and the other a 12-word mention at the end of a story.

I appreciate that PR is a fickle business and that not all campaigns work, but after spending £1200 and getting such low ROI - I had to pull the plug early.

It's important to remember that PR companies will still charge you their day rate regardless of whether the campaign works or not. So in this case Cerub haven't done anything wrong, but in future I will negotiate a guaranteed ROI (which may in fact be quite generous to the PR firm). This would safeguard against completely failed campaigns and would have saved me a bit of cash and bitter emotions.
