I met the famous Fay Weldon today. She was giving out the awards at a teen writing residential I was working at.
I said, "I heard you on the radio yesterday."
She laughed and said, "Oh yes, I was giving the publishers grief again!"
I said, "That was my publisher you were talking to."
On this post it all sounds hideously cringe-worthy, but in fact it was all quite pleasant :)
