Bookbackers puts the reader at the heart of publishing.
Traditionally, agents, publishers and retailers have decreed what readers should, and can, read. Every year thousands of manuscripts are rejected by them. The ones that get through do so because the book trade thinks it can successfully market them to you. But wouldn't it be great to have some sort of say over what you get to read? Bookbackers lets you read books at the manuscript stage. It lets you decide whether a book gets published or not, and it lets you have a stake in the success of a book: if a book takes off, you get a cut of the proceeds.
So how can you back a book? Read how it works.

about BookBackers
BookBackers is a cross-industry initiative, created to put readers at the heart of publishing. Normally, publishers don't just 'supply' books to readers: they spend a fortune on marketing them to try to create what is actually an artifical demand. BookBackers does the opposite - rather than being manipulated by advertising, readers actually do demand books from publishers. BookBackers allows publishers to publish the books that people actually want; it allows readers to have a say in what they see in bookstores; it is an honest and hype-free way to ensure that the books we read are the books we want to read.
