Design and layout.

We design jackets, covers, end papers and paperback covers for publishers - you can see a small sample of our recent work below. We also take on layout projects of all sizes. Sometimes we simply create the design for a typesetter to implement, other times we proof, edit, design, typeset, layout and deliver the full typeset pdf.

We are not precious about our designs. They are there for one purpose only: to sell the book. That is why our covers have been held up for commendation by industry commenters (see right sidebar.)

Testimonials

"Snowbooks are not just the best small publisher around, they have the best jackets too. The reason they are able to slug it out with the big boys is that their books look as good, and frequently better, than the alternatives from major publishers. If every small publisher had design as good as theirs then they'd sell a lot more books."

- Scott Pack, The Friday Project

"Adept stood out to me immediately as a mass-market piece of publishing, and I was pleasantly surprised to find that it was published by a small independent company, Snowbooks. The book's greatest strength was the jacket treatment, which was spot-on for the market climate and professionally executed. This book looked like it belonged on the bestseller lists. Thankfully, the artistic eye at Snowbooks hasn't blinded the commercial one, and the jackets from Snowbooks are of a consistently high level, as recently realized with The Other Eden by Sarah Bryant." - Matthew Bates, WHSmith
